Bijou Exquisite Jewellery

The inspiration for the Bijou Exquisite Jewellery Collection came from many travel destinations around the world.
Gillian Roffe owner/ managing director of XL Bay Travel and Club Travel, Algoa Bay in Port Elizabeth, together with the Goldsmith and Jewellery designer Marnic Tait, found the inspiration for the Bijou Exquisite Collection from the Indian Ocean Islands.
The beautiful island of Mauritius was the inspiration for the Frangipani Collection. The azure seas, white sand, many hammocks and the aroma of the Frangipani flower will bring back many pleasant memories for anyone who had been to Mauritius. The signature piece of the collection is the Frangipani pendant that is sure to delight its owner.
A fairly new destination in the Indian Ocean Islands, Zanzibar, is known as the “Spice Island”. The many Dhow Fishermen’s boats and the aromatic spices on the island instilled the inspiration for the Spice and Dhow Collection. The ever popular Tanzanite gemstone found at the foothills of Mount Kilomanjaro was the inspiration for the Dhow Collection. The beautiful Tanzanite is the only gemstone used in the Dhow Collection.
The form, function and beauty of various buildings in the major capitals in the world served as the inspiration for the “Urban Chic” Collection.
The intricate architecture of 18th Century buildings, to the new renewable energy buildings in Dubai, Abu Dhabi, London and New York provide a collection that is bold in design. Here, the form, design and stones are the stars of the jewellery range.
This range was also designed for the businessman who travels the capitals of the world; forever searching for a gift for the partner at home.
The Far East, especially Thailand, is a very popular destination for South Africans and Europeans alike. Who can forget all the statues with the intricate mosaic work which makes up a Budha or a building; these items were the inspiration for the “Mosaic” Collection.
